Brooks Preperation Guide:
Test your gear: whether it’s your running shoes, socks or even a new hat you’ve got to wear for the event, we strongly suggest popping and wearing them all prior to race day, just to ensure everything fits well and feels just right for the event. Take it all for a quick spin or implement into your training runs, you’ll thank us later!
Eat well and hydrate: leading up to the event and of course the morning of/night of, ensure to drink plenty of fluids and keep the body at optimal hydration. Having nutritious and balanced meals is also critical for performance and overall mood on race day.
Logistics: race day nerves or worries are completely normal, and we understand that. By simply arriving extra early, checking the forecast or even having a glimpse of the track a few weeks or days before race day can reduce anxious thoughts and may help you feel more prepared.
Don’t sweat the small stuff: Soak it all in, enjoy the view, crack a smile and don’t take anything too seriously. While goal-setting is great, just remember to have fun and enjoy the run. It’s a beautiful view, surronded by like-minded indivduals, so don’t forget to smile and and take it all in!
