The Ghost 17

The Ghost franchise has been around for over 18 years now, and we know the expectations for this shoe are pretty high. It has to be stable, reliable, and cushioned. We’re confident we’ve elevated on all fronts and are excited to walk you through the updates to the Ghost 17.

We’ve changed up the heel-to-toe drop in our latest update, with the Ghost 17 now sporting a 26mm heel and a 16mm forefoot midsole. Looking back to the Ghost 16, that’s an extra +1mm in the heel and +3mm in the forefoot. This 10mm drop has allowed us to elevate our forefoot cushioning, and overall step-in feel, without having to significantly increase the overall stack height. We understand not everyone is looking for that maximalist shoe look and feel, like that of our Ghost Max 2 or Glycerin Max. Ghost 17’s new geometry still offers the perfect blend of positive, feel-good energy by continuing to utilise our nitrogen-infused DNA LOFT v3.

“I’ve always found the Ghost to be an extremely reliable neutral daily trainer that was set and forget. As a Podiatrist, it was a fantastic option to refer patients to who were needing a stable shoe to use both with and without orthotics.”

“With the Ghost 16, I personally found the forefoot to lack the supple soft but supportive ride I was looking for. The Ghost 17 has struck that perfect balance of stability and comfort, and it is now my go-to neutral daily trainer.”

Looking underfoot, we’ve better reinforced the medial side of the Ghost 17 with our strategically re-designed outsole rubber. The new unsegmented midfoot rubber offers our runners improved stability as they transition from rearfoot to midfoot. Perfect for those who are high deviators through midstance, but also better benefitting those who utilise orthotics. We’ve also made improvements to the forefoot, with updated flex grooves that fully articulate to better align with the natural flex points of the foot.

You’ll be glad to hear our decoupled crash pad and deep heel grooves return, absorbing the initial impact at heel strike for softer landings. We’re also maintaining traction and durability, with our blend of RoadTack and High-Performance Rubbers, while still looking out for Mother Earth with our recycled silica content. Oh, and did we mention the Ghost 17 is Certified Carbon Neutral?… Get ready for guilt free, extra-smooth heel-to-toe transitions.

The Ghost 17 has definitely had a facelift, but we’ve substituted Botox for an enhanced double jacquard air mesh upper. This helps lock the foot in place with targeted stretch and structure, while still delivering on breathability. The new kickback collar helps guide the heel seamlessly into the shoe, while also lending itself to a sportier aesthetic. We hope the new versatile look, and assortment of colours, help the Ghost 17 impress and enhance the vibes from start to finish.

No matter if you are wearing it, recommending it, or referring it, the Ghost 17 is built to deliver. With the perfect balance of softness and feel-good energy through its nitrogen-infused midsole and extra smooth ride. Stability, reliability and cushioning all accounted for. So lace up, embrace the run, and make some memories in the all-new Ghost 17.

Bottom line, the ideal time of day to exercise is when it is best for you. Although more research is needed in this area to draw a conclusion on exactly what time of day is the best to exercise, what we do know is that long-term exercise does in fact improve aerobic capacity, cardiac function, management of BMI, and strength. So, the evidence points to moving your body for overall wellness regardless of what time you do it.
